Exhaust hoods are one type of fume hood enclosure that contains and exhausts fumes away from the room and people working near the exhaust hood. They are available for immediate installation in your facility in standard manufactured sizes or we can help you design a customized exhaust hood for your unique application, work, research or space. Common construction materials used in exhaust hoods include steel, stainless steel and polypropylene. Exhaust hoods often include ducting, lighting, filtration, mechanical system controls, sinks, water and gas services depending on the use and research.
Commonly called canopy hoods, exhaust hoods can be custom designed like a simple kitchen stove top canopy with light and blower to provide fume exhaust in small open areas. They are not designed to provide complete fume containment and should not be used for large exhaust or hazardous chemical applications.
Another application for exhaust hoods is flexible, point of use exhaust hoods commonly called snorkel hoods. These are small, flexible tubes that provide point of use exhaust containment. They are not designed to provide complete fume containment and should not be used for large exhaust or hazardous chemical applications.
